KYUEM continues to shine
THE July 2015 and January 2016 cohorts of KYUEM students have again set another new record of Cambridge A-Level success this year with 90% of grades at A*-B; 74% at A*-A; 62% of students gaining at least three A grades; 30% of students gaining four A grades and 27% of students gaining at least three A* grades.
This year saw KYUEM equal its record number of conditional places at Oxford and Cambridge, while major UK and US universities are all well represented in the overall tally of results. At a time of some uncertainty over such external issues as Brexit, maintaining high standards of success and continued placement in some of the finest universities in the world is no mean achievement.
According to application statistics by University of Cambridge, KYUEM had the highest number of offers in Malaysia in 2016. The 2017 statistics will only be published next year but eight students will be enrolling at Cambridge University this month. These outcomes have become common at the KYUEM since it was established in 1998. KYUEM students are special. They are selected not only based on academic ability, but also because they have displayed commitment and success in a range of other activities.
KYUEM employs both local and expatriate teachers, many holding first class honours degrees, master’s degrees and doctorates who are convinced of the value of their work and share a common desire that their students should succeed.
KYUEM students work hard and assessment of progress is both rigorous and regular. They receive excellent advice about how to work effectively and how to revise and also excellent guidance about university applications.
The college provides a broad range of extra-curricular opportunities, which help develop students’ wider interests, personalities, teamwork abilities, communication skills and leadership potential.
