Building a soaring career with Nilai U’s aircraft programmes

-

BUILD an exciting and lucrative career with Nilai University’s (Nilai U) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programmes.

Nilai U is a market leader in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering. Since launching the Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (DAME) programme in 2008, the department of aircraft maintenance engineering has grown from strength to strength.

The diploma programme is so popular that the sight of the blue and white uniforms of its students has become a common sight at Nilai U.

One of the key reasons for the popularity of the DAME programme is that its syllabus prepares students for the all-important European Aviation Safety Agency B1.1 and B2 examinations.

These examinations are the starting point towards becoming fully licensed aircraft maintenance engineers who can certify the airworthiness of an aircraft.

People with these qualifications are highly sought after around the world and command lucrative salaries.

The facilities at Nilai U for this programme are among the best in the country. There are two aircraft housed in a purpose-built hangar. Students have access to proper tooling as well as turbine engines, allowing them to gain valuable hands-on experience.

This hands-on experience is put into practical use during the six-month On-The-Job-Training (OJT), which is built into the two-and-a-half-year programme.

Industry partners

Students will get to hone their skills at one of Nilai U’s industry partners which include AirAsia, AirAsia X, KLM and Berjaya Air.

Graduates of the diploma programme can advance towards an Advanced Diploma in Aircraft Engineering Technology programme.

Students who successfully complete this one-year top-up option will also receive a BSc (Hons) in Aircraft Engineering from Kingston University, UK.

The degree is aimed at students who want to go into supervisory and management positions. It is also a pathway onto a master’s degree in Aircraft Engineering.
