THE Panasonic Cubie Oven NU-SC100WMPQ is one of the most important kitchen machines you’ll ever invest in, especially if space is at a premium in your kitchen.

The smooth, sleek curves of the compact Cubie belie the versatilit­y and power contained within the 351mm high, 355mm wide and 455mm deep machine. And the available space will allow you to steam a whole fish, roast a 1.5kg chicken, or bake a 10-inch pizza.

The cooking space is adjustable, and the oven itself is ergonomica­lly designed with a wide, easy-to-read display and intuitive touchscree­n controls.

Userfriend­ly and fuss-free, the oven has 16 Auto Menus available for specific foods, such as Steam Cheese Cake, or to make Fried

Bananas.

Temperatur­e sensors not only allow precision when it comes to setting an exact temperatur­e – between 100°C and 230°C – but also enable hot air to circulate in various ways. This allows you to use different cooking techniques – even Healthy Frying!

There are also three functions to allow you to create steamed specialiti­es, while really suiting the cooking method to your dish du jour. The steam is generated in just 20 seconds, and the oven can reach 100°C in under 3 minutes, for faster, more energy-efficient cooking.

The upper and lower racks will allow you to steam multiple dishes at the same time, and you can even use the Steam function to sterilise baby bottles.

Choose from low-temperatur­e steaming, normal steaming or fast steaming.

Steaming at low temperatur­es (80°C) is suitable for vegetables and eggs, and will allow you to retain the nutrients in your food, while the mid-temperatur­e steaming function (100°C) seems to bring out the fresh sweetness in meat and seafood.

Use the fast, high temperatur­e steaming function (120°C), which raises the temperatur­e of the steam even higher, to cook food faster and to steam frozen food quickly.

You can also use the Cubie Oven to bake or roast evenly, as well as ferment, which will allow you to make your own yoghurt.

Two functions are combined if you select the Steam Convection setting, which will circulate both hot air and steam. If you use this setting to bake a cake, you can expect a fluffy, moist crumb and perfectly-baked outside.
