WANT to look like the Korean stars? Now that South Korean makeup brand Luna has reached our shores, women can look forward to specially formulated cosmetics that offer the hallyu look.

Established in 2006, Luna is targeted at women between the ages of 25 and 30 years old. Using the latest technology in its product development formulations, cosmetics are created in sync with the brand’s belief that “all women are beautiful”.

The trendy cosmetics brand – made up of dermatologically-tested products – prides itself on offering products that give women the fresh-off-the-runway look.

The new range includes an upgraded formulation of its Essence Water Pack AD, a cushion foundation with triple function benefits. Besides providing UV protection with SPF 50++, it helps reduce wrinkles and brighten skin’s complexion too.

The foundation is formulated with a special water droplet formulation which creates a moisturising effect on skin. It contains quintuplex hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin.

Baobab tree extract – an excellent skin moisturiser – is also added to the formulation.

Looking for a product to conceal skin imperfections? Try Long Lasting Tip Concealer which provides all day coverage, minus the cakey or blotchy look. It creates a one-shade brighter pink tone and helps conceal dark circles. It also doubles as an eye primer.

It contains chamomile extract, known for its hydrating and soothing properties. For best results, use the concealer before applying your foundation.

To complete the catwalk look, Luna introduces its Runway Cream Lipstick range. The matte texture with gloss lipstick keeps lips hydrated with ingredients like hyaluronic acid and Vitamin C. It comes in six shades including soft coral, romantic pink and red queen.

Luna overseas manager Youngki Hong said Luna’s selling point was constant technological innovations in its production formulations.

“We work with a team of scientists to create products suited to Asian skin. Our best selling product is the Essence Water Pack AD which contains 68% essence to help nourish skin,” said Hong during the launch of Luna cosmetics in Kuala Lumpur recently.

He added that Malaysians are huge followers of Korean pop culture and this has accelerated the popularity of K-beauty brands like Luna cosmetics.

Hong added that products are suited for Asian skins. Items are sold at selected Watsons stores.

“Our lip colours and cushion foundation are some of the must-haves among Korean women. They also like its simple and minimalistic packaging.”
