Honouring Malaysia’s best
I would like to extend our thanks to the organising committee for making Matrade part of the Putra Brand Awards 2017. This award is unique to the extent that it is voted by more than 6,000 Malaysian consumers nationwide. This is a true testimony of the sterling combination of appeal, engagement and recognition of leading brands in Malaysia.
The Awards has helped build a strong base for brands that resonated with Malaysian consumers. Matrade as Malaysia’s only trade promotion agency under the Ministry of International Trade and Industry believes the award will be a strong motivator for Malaysian brands to soar to greater heights, beyond the world’s standard.
Matrade has been partnering with the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) for the past eight years and this long-standing relationship is a result of our belief that branding and advertising play a pivotal role in the success of a business, not only domestically but internationally, too.
At Matrade, we organise various capacity building programmes such as workshops and seminars as well as export promotion activities like international trade shows and business matching, all of which are geared towards propelling local brands in the global arena.
Winning a Putra Brand Award can be likened to a badge of honour accorded by Malaysian consumers. Apart from being recognised as the People’s Choice, the award establishes and enhances a brand’s business reputation, strengthens business relationships, and to a large extent, boosts staff morale.
I believe we have achieved several milestones in pushing the boundaries for the success of Malaysian brands. Malaysian brands have grown in stature and profitability largely due to the collective efforts of organisations like the 4As, with the support of the Media Specialists Association (MSA), Branding Association of Malaysia (BAM) and Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), and of course Matrade.
Moving forward, Matrade welcomes all local brands to reach out to us in forging strategic partnerships and initiating collaborative work to promote local products and services internationally.
I wish to express my heartiest gratitude to the 4As, BAM, MAA, MSA, the organising committee of the Putra Brand Awards, and the 4As for their continuous efforts and dedication in promoting Malaysian brands. Lastly, I want to congratulate all the winners of this year’s Putra Brand Awards.
