Capturing the break of dawn
IF you have ever woken up early enough to catch the break of dawn, on a clear day, it is indeed a mesmerising experience. As the rays burst through the skies, it signals the start of a brand new day.
That’s what the latest fragrance from L’Occitane is all about; capturing the scent of the first morning light in Provence.
Terre de Lumiere is designed by three perfumers from Grasse, France – Calice Becker (master perfumer), Nadege Le Garlantezec (perfumer) and Hyamala Maisondieu (senior perfumer) – who delved into their own memories and emotions of dawn in Provence to concoct the EDT.
The result is a delicate scent with a fresh, slightly fruity top composed of bergamot, pink pepper and blackcurrant. A floral burst comes from heart notes of pink peonies, while acacia flower, tonka bean and white musk form a tender and harmonious base.
The perfume is encased in a soft powder pink bottle with a translucent, asymmetrical cap set in a deeper pink hue.
Completing the Terre de Lumiere range are four other products. The Gentle Shower Gel – a light yet richly textured product infused with the floral notes of Terre de Lumiere, while the Beautifying Body Milk is a subtly iridescent and moisturising formula.
The Radiant Balm is great for pampering skin with its soothing properties. The Perfumed Soap is ideal for the hands and body, gently cleansing skin while leaving a tender trail of floral scent. – Wong Li Za
