Civic Type R powers in

-

HONDA Malaysia has launched the latest Civic Type R priced at RM320,000 without insurance. The Civic Type R holds a lap record for the fastest front-wheeldrive car at the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit in Germany.

It claims a 0-100kph sprint in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 272kph.

Available in Championship White, Honda Malaysia said 60 bookings have been received for this high performance car.

It is powered by a 2.0-litre VTEC turbocharged engine with 320PS at 6,500rpm and peak torque is 400Nm from 2,500rpm to 4,500rpm.

Transmission is a slick six-speed manual gearbox with a rev-matching function that smooths shifts.

Every Civic Type R is built with its own special serial number plate positioned strategically on the centre console which stands as a constant reminder of the car’s exclusivity.

The illumination light and meter design changes based on the selected mode to offer three distinct looks as well as to indicate Throttle Response and Brake Input, Turbo Boost Meter, REV Indicator, G-Meter Display and Lap Time depending on which drive mode has been selected using the console-mounted switch.

Equally well-equipped safety wise, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, Vehicle Stability Assist, anti-lock braking system, Traction Control, Electronic Brake Distribution and Dynamic Guidelines are standard.

At the launch ceremony at last week’s Malaysia Autoshow 2017, Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Toichi Ishiyama said, “We are committed to offer products that are of high value and also advanced in technology to provide joy to our customers.”
