New Myvi open for booking
PERODUA has started taking orders last week for the allnew Myvi scheduled to be launched today. The company is only providing teaser views of the third generation Myvi car which is longer, lower and wider than its predecessor.
The new car will get 1.3- or 1.5litre Dual VVT-i engines, and fivespeed manual or four-speed automatic transmission.
The new NR engines are produced by the Daihatsu Perodua Engine Manufacturing plant in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan.
Available variants are 1.3 Standard G manual priced at RM44,300 without insurance, 1.3 Standard G automatic (RM 46,300), 1.3 Premium X automatic (RM48,300), 1.5 High automatic (RM51,800) and 1.5 Advance automatic (RM55,300).
The Myvi is easily the best-specified in its segment and a class above as all variants get LED headlamps with ‘Follow Me Home’ and levelling functions, smart entry with push start/stop ignition, 60:40 folding rear seats, reverse sensors, anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Emergency Stop Signal and four airbags.
The 1.5-litre variants get two more airbags, making a total of six. Perodua is targeting to secure a 5-star Asean NCAP rating for the Myvi.
Alloy wheels are the 14-inch type for the 1.3-litre variants while the 1.5-litre versions get 15-inch size in two tones.
An Eco Idle system which shuts down the engine at brief stops to save fuel is available in the Premium X, High and Advance variants.
Other unique features of the 1.5litre variants are sporty two-tone front and side skirts, a rear spoiler and a built-in toll card reader - a first for any Perodua car.
The range-topping Advance variant gets the Advanced Safety Assist (A.S.A.), a suite of advanced safety features that comprises PreCollision Warning, Pre-Collision Braking, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Mis-operation Control.
These systems, which are similar to those offered in selected high-end cars, operate through a forward-facing recognition camera system located behind the rear-view mirror.
Available colours are Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Mystical Purple, Lava Red, Peppermint Green (new colour - 1.3 variants only) and Granite Grey (new colour, 1.5 variants only).
