Several interesting choices of disciplines await foundation students at MSU.
These disciplines are offered after taking into account the one-year duration that will be spent and the student’s state of preparedness before they begin their first year of bachelor degree studies.
For students with a keen interest in the Visual Arts disciplines, the Foundation in Visual Arts (FVA) is a good option to start with. This programme aims to equip students with a firm grounding in basic techniques and principles in the field of visual arts.
The courses are focused mainly on developing the intellectual and creative development of the student in both the theoretical and practical areas.
Through this programme, students will acquire the foundation skills, techniques and theories, which will enable them to utilise a variety of medium, such as drawing, animation, illustration, photography, digital imaging and computer applications.
Upon completion of the course, successful candidates can proceed to Bachelor in Graphic Design or any other related courses in MSU through the Faculty of Information Sciences and Engineering.
Alternatively, they can also opt to further their studies at any of the higher learning institutions, locally or abroad.
Other areas of specialisation students may choose at the bachelor’s degree level at MSU include Games Design and Animation, Instructional Multimedia, Visual Communication and Marketing, Creative Video and Photography, New Media and Creative Multimedia.
