Pathway to business success
THE Department of Management Studies (DOMS) at HELP Academy has a reputation for successfully delivering UK degree programmes and nurturing students to become competent and inspired individuals.
Its latest twinning collaboration is with the University of Derby (UOD), a modern and innovative education provider with more than 160 years of expertise in education.
Through its partnership with HELP Academy, the Derby Business School offers students three 3+0 programmes – BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance, BA (Hons) Business (International Business) and BA (Hons) Business Management.
The business management and international business programmes are accredited by Chartered Management Institute (CMI), allowing students to become affiliate members of CMI and receive an Advanced Diploma in Management and Leadership.
According to UOD’s CMI representative Brian Wilkinson, the CMI accreditation ensures that students are better prepared from an academic perspective to work in the corporate world, as verified by the university’s research and feedback from corporate partners. Wilkinson said that as CMI qualifications are practicedriven, UOD graduates can communicate effectively, solve any problem efficiently and constantly challenge the status quo.
The department also offers Diploma in Business Management and Certificate in Business Management to better prepare students for further studies in the field of business.
DOMS focuses on providing a unique educational experience through special modules offered to enhance students’ intellectual and academic skills.
The Derby One Fee Package allows students to receive their degree from UOD through a pathway starting from the foundation, diploma or certificate to degree for only RM80,000.

Recently, HELP Academy students of the UOD programme successfully completed their first international study trip to the UOD UK campus. They spent a week at the university and completed the first Student Leadership Challenge sponsored by CMI.
A total of 37 students from the UOD BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance and BA (Hons) Business Management programmes shared this experience with UOD’s other university partners – London Business School (UK), Mediterranean College (Greece) and BAC - International Educational Pathway (Bangladesh).
The trip consisted of lectures and seminars by influential business leaders and entrepreneurs, visits to Derby’s industry partners such RollsRoyce Heritage Centre, EPM Technology and Derby Museum and Art Gallery, as well as the Student Leadership Challenge by CMI.
With four teams from HELP Academy qualifying for the grand finale, the academy secured the first, second and third places in the CMI Student Leadership Challenge.
Adele Chan pursued UOD’s BA (Hons) Business Management at HELP Academy to expand her knowledge in the ways businesses operate.
“I chose the UOD programme at HELP as it was one of the most competitively priced international degrees that I could obtain without leaving Malaysia,” she says.
“The trip to the UK campus at the end of our third year was a good experience for students to learn and explore the UK.”
HELP’s partnership with UOD offers a valuable education that is relevant to today’s world and ensures graduates are well equipped to lead successful careers.
