Pout like an angel

To look like a goddess, it takes an army of beauty specialists behind the scenes at the recent Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017 in Shanghai.

THE fantasy wings and the fantasy bra are definitely the highlight of the Victoria’s Secret shows, but to make all that look good it needs efficient teamwork by a team of stylists, makeup artists, hairstylists and manicurists.

At the recent Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017 held at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Pudong Xinqu in Shanghai, the lingerie brand hired French lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux and British hairstylist Anthony Turner to create stunning looks for the brand’s Angels.

Pecheux and Turner, together with their teams, worked on 55 Angels to create 88 runway looks.

For the Angel’s flawless looks, Pecheux and his team powdered and painted using the brand’s makeup products, while Turner turned up the heat on a variety of coloured tresses to achieve waves and curls befitting the sexiest fashion show.

The globally-famous Victoria’s Secret Angels has an impressive roster of top models that include Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Liu Wen, Stella Maxwell, Sara Sampaio and Bella Hadid, among others.

For the first time, Victoria’s Secret has partnered with a luxury brand to create an exclusive limited edition capsule collection VS x Balmain.

Balmain Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing designed an offering that looks to the sexy, modern silhouette that Victoria’s Secret is known for, while incorporating Balmain’s instantly identifiable style.

Who got to wear the Fantasy Bra? Brazilian supermodel Lais Ribeiro earned the honour of wearing the Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra designed – on a custom Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Demi Bra – by Mouawad valued at US$2mil (RM8.2mil) and weighing more than 600 carats.

Hours before the show, models were being transformed backstage. They posed with their Oppo smartphones and stay hydrated with Blairquhan water.

The makeup looks were based on the themes for the show from Punk Angel, Porcelain Angel, A Winter’s Tale, Millennial Nation, Goddesses, to Nomadic Adventure.

Turner created the defining sexy and tousled waves for the Angels and it resulted in glossy, polished and an effortless runway look.

For the Angels’ runway makeup, Pecheux gave the models sultry brown eyes, high-impact lashes, rosy, bronzed cheeks, and a balmy nude pout achieved with Victoria’s Secret Velvet Matte Cream Lip Stains.

Nothing was left undone so their nails, the ultimate accessory – highly visible when they are giving away kisses – were painted with high gloss and had that flirty feminine manicure, courtesy of LeChat nail colours in Pisco Sour and Pink Ribbon.

For the Angels’ skin to look glowy and moisturised, the Victoria’s Secret Love Fragrance Lotion was applied for luminous soft skin.

To transform these Angels into goddesses, it took 32 makeup artists, 27 hairstylists, 11 manicurists and only over 520 Victoria’s Secret lip products alone!
