‘Tis the season of merriment
WHEN the baubles are out and Mariah Carey starts belting out All I Want For Christmas Is You, you know there’s only so much time left before you’ve got to get that gift for the office Secret Santa.
If it’s ornaments, toys or fashion accessories you’re looking for, then head on over to 1 Mont Kiara’s Christmas Bazaar to nab those Christmassy gifts and more before they’re gone at the end of the month. The bazaar is incredibly hard to miss as it is located at the mall’s main atrium and surrounds a massive 10.7m (35ft) Christmas tree.
In addition to the abundance of Yuletide merchandise available, there will be plenty going on in 1 Mont Kiara every weekend as part of the mall’s “The Season of Merriment” Christmas campaign, including band performances, Christmas puppet shows, gingerbread man workshops and a unique interactive art experience by Blanko de Christmas Statue that will only be available on Sunday, Dec 10.
If you have children who enjoy painting and don’t mind getting a little messy, then you wouldn’t want to miss out on this family-friendly performance art.
The highlight of this campaign would be the Christmas Rooftop Party on Dec 9, where everyone is invited to the third floor to dress up as their favourite Christmas icons or characters (how many girls would come in as Elsa this year?).
There are even prizes for best dressed children, so dust those costumes off and have them ready for the party.
The Rooftop Party will start at 5pm, when station games will be available for everyone and will last till sundown, ending with an outdoor movie screening of Arthur Christmas at 8.30pm.
Finally, if you find yourself becoming a spendthrift at 1 Mont Kiara this season, don’t forget to keep your receipts and exchange them for a limited Reindeer Plush Toy at the Concierge.
You will be able to redeem this when you’ve spent RM350 at 1 Mont Kiara (over a maximum of two receipts; RM450 for purchases from Village Grocer). So if you’ve already committed to a shopping spree at the mall, you might as well walk away with an additional gift. Remember, redemptions are only valid with receipts obtained on the same day.
