Developing creative individuals

-

DASEIN is a word derived from German philosophy that has timelessly inspired philosophers, artists, writers, and creative thinkers to discover and redefine their true being and existence.

German social psychologist and psychoanalyst Erich Fromm said: “People are born equal, but they are also born different” and that has become the academic hallmark of Dasein Academy of Art.

The craft of its imagination is about training the creative minds of individual talents, for great artists bear timeless imprints of identity in their masterpieces.

Driven by this ingenuity, Dasein believes the education for art, design and media studies is more than just a mere skill or job market-oriented curriculum.

Aesthetic learning

After all, it is through the path of creative thinking and aesthetic learning that one discovers the beauty of one’s existence and that is a fulfilment of a lifetime.

With that idea in mind, Dasein Academy of Art was established in 1996 by a team of avid educators and professionals from art, design and media industry aspiring to revive the role of a future generation dedicated to the creative and cultural development for personal enrichment.

It has unique versatility in the way it provides education that differs from other colleges.

Over the years of advocating individual distinction, Dasein Academy of Art has developed a unique set of teaching principles called edu-mentoring.

Dasein Academy of Art has incorporated two key ingredients into its syllabus for developing young minds – teaching plus mentoring.

Personalised approach: Dasein Academy of Art incorporates two key ingredients into its syllabus for developing young minds.

Firstly, it teaches and mentors students to provide a more personalised approach to each – a teaching-learning relationship.

It is through the guidance in self-discovery that the hidden gem of self-value can be unearthed.

Self-value starts with personal virtues.

And contrary to most mass-teaching institutions, Dasein Academy insists on small scale classes, limited to 15-25 students per class.

That is part of the edu-mentoring methodology, which enables personalised guidance for students, helping them uncover niche virtues with better attention and results.

Accomplished professionals: Over the years, Dasein graduates have consistently achieved high employment rate at 98% after three months of graduation.

This proved that the efforts of Dasein in cultivating accomplished and sustainable professionals are convincingly recognised by the creative industry.

To inspire students and connect with the creative industry, Dasein strives to foster knowledge sharing and creative enlightenment.

Artists and scholars from around the world are often invited to host academic forums and talks, providing a platform for students and speakers to uncover inspiring insights that fuel the creative process.

Skilled designers: Dasein believes in the fundamentals of good creative education and aims to provide the right kind of learning environment and tools that not only produce skilled designers, but also those who can think, innovate, and create.

It is time students rediscover creativity, and see things differently to start their journey with Dasein Academy of Art.
