IF you had an amazing time at Star Media Group’s WOW – Women do Wonders campaign in March, here’s some good news.

WOW is returning for its second edition next year with more exciting programmes and activities for everyone.

With the theme Women’s Fiesta, the campaign is held in conjunction with International Women’s Day on March 8, and aims to bring women and men together to celebrate and empower women.

WOW will be held on March 10 and 11 at the Starling Mall in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, from 10am to 8pm.

The event will feature interesting talks, workshops and activities as well as exciting performances to celebrate women’s increasing role and contribution to life, society, work and family.

Look out for contests and lucky draw sessions, too.

There will also be a 3km WOW walk on March 11. The walk will take place around Starling Mall and as many as 1,000 participants are expected to take part.

To kick off the preparations for WOW, Star Media Group is now inviting exhibitors to be part of Women’s Fiesta.

The event is set to gather people from almost every consumer segment, featuring categories such as beauty, fashion, fitness, food, education, auto, wealth and tech. The hall has a vast space of more than 30,000 sq feet, which could host many exhibitors and vendors – and for folks to shop till they drop.

WOW offers exciting opportunities for companies small or large to showcase and sell their products or services, to provide demonstrations, offer free samples and informational handouts, as well as attract customers with discounted deals.

Look out for exhibitor Bubble Gum Wax’s special promotion – a discounted rate of RM29 for Brazilian wax or half leg waxing (add an additional RM1 for underarm waxing).

“It’s our first involvement in the expo that supports women’s empowerment. We look forward to having lots of fun-filled activities at the much talked about campaign,” said Bubble Gum Wax marketing manager Herleena Pahlavy.

If you’re a batik lover, you’re in for a treat at WOW. Homegrown label Batek by Rasta Rashid will be showcasing some of her one-of-a-kind everyday batik wear for both men and women. Look out for the Kuantan-born designer’s trademark pucuk rebung designs done with a modern twist as well as handbags, shoes and kids’ batik tutus.

“Our participation will be a huge encouragement to women to use their creative mind in entrepreneurship, and to help others. The exhibition will feature our batik sarong Terengganu and Kelantan fabric,” said Rasta.

Mineral water company Spritzer Bhd has lined up special product samplings, games and other promotions at their booth.

“International Women’s Day celebrates women’s rights. We hope people will support this event, which is all about women empowerment,” said Spritzer public relations manager Winnie Chin.
