Feast in splendour at The Throne Room

- For starters, try the cured salmon topped with capers and slices of fresh onions.

THIS Christmas, The Throne Room invites you to a world of gastronomic delights as it opens its towering golden wrought iron gate to all.

> A palace to dine in: Set to replicate the grandiose and opulence of the interior of a European palace, The Throne Room stands out with its gilded ceilings and glittering chandeliers, cardinal red drapes with golden tassels, and opulent furnishings.

Antique wooden furniture with intricate carvings, embroidered upholstery and a vast collection of paintings, French porcelain and marble sculptures adorn every nook and cranny of the room.

It also features an antique piano imported from the United Kingdom, said to be over 100 years old.

True to its name, its palatial ambience will have you feeling like you have stepped back in time to dine with King Louis at the Palace of Versailles.

The Throne Room also offers live classical performances daily by a solo violinist or pianist to further enrich the diner’s experience.

> A feast for royalty: For starters, have a taste of the cured salmon topped with capers, fresh garden vegetables and slices of fresh onions, drizzled with mustard-dill dressing.

The play of textures and flavours will entice your taste buds in anticipation of more delightful treats to come.

Diners can also try the cold platter, served with a generous selection of nibbles such as Serrano ham, chorizo, thick slices roasted pork belly, smoked pork spread, olives, roasted red peppers and gherkins.

Not to be missed is the all-time German favourite – the Bavarian Bratwurst, one of the house specials.

The juicy German sausages offer a burst of flavours that complement well with a side of sauerkraut and mashed potatoes for a true German fare.

Another highlight is the Farmer’s Platter. It features slices of pork belly, Kassler ham, bratwurst, Bavarian meatloaf, sauerkraut and Tyrolean dumpling, enhanced with savoury brown gravy and tangy mustard.

Other house specials include roasted suckling pig, slow-roasted pork knuckles, chargrilled black pepper spare ribs, pork wiener schnitzel, jager schnitzel pork tenderloin, paprika chicken, braised lamb shank, duck confit on lentil stew, Kassler ham and pan-roasted salmon fillet.

End your gastronomical journey on a sweet note with its enticing selection of desserts – from blueberry cheesecake and hot sour cherries with vanilla ice cream to orange-mint creme brulee and marinated strawberry in red wine and mascarpone cheese.
