Champion in community development
LITTLE is known about Platinum Victory Sdn Bhd except for those living in Setapak.
The highly populated condominiums with the “PV” acronym are a testament to the popularity of this community developer.
This is especially so around Taman Melati adjoining the Melawati Fire Station en route to Karak Highway, where the area is bustling with eateries and activities as it is near the Tunku Abdul Rahman University College.
“The concept of having a community living harmoniously and helping each other is something that we hold close to our hearts when we started in the late 1990’s during the economic downturn,” said executive director Gan Yee Hin.
He explained that the period was disheartening for many Malaysians.
There were those who struggled to keep their families fed and stayed together.
Everyone was trying to make ends meet and owning a home seemed an impossible dream.
“Our founders’ beliefs in integrity, being customer-centric, innovative and the pursuit of entrepreneurship have tide us over,” explained Gan.
The company rose from its rough beginnings in 1998.
Trust was an issue as it did not have the financial standing of a big stable corporation.
Furthermore, people were generally cautious and businesses were suffering.
Platinum Victory underwent the whole struggle – from getting land to funding the project, from planning to appeasing creditors for materials.
“It was hard work,” Gan told, “lots of sweat and tears.
“We persevered and we believe that what we offer is something that is a necessity – a good roof over our heads, at a value-for money price.”
Through the test of time, Platinum Victory’s first project in Sentul, Pelangi Condominium, was completed in 2002.
It was the company’s first foray into property development and gave it the boost it needed as it was well-received.
Not one to rest on its laurels, the company embarked on a bigger project in Setapak where several tracts of land were acquired and a master plan based on community living was conceived.
Platinum Lake City, Danau Kota, Setapak and Platinum Hill, Melati Utama, Setapak developments were launched in various phases through the years.
With proper planning and working with authorities, the developments thrived as one big township with all the convenience and amenities, plus accessibility and connectivity with good infrastructure.
In ensuring sustainability of the community living in the township, the property developer continues to add value by managing the properties itself while building low-density commercial shop lots in support of the growing demands of the population there.
Platinum Victory became synonymous with affordability and practicality for their functional “no-frills” developments, good built-up sizes and sensible layouts of their homes as well as reasonable maintenance fees.
Its venture into hospitality was natural when the company acquired Villa Putra Putri Gerbang in Ampang Hilir and refurbished it while maintaining its distinct architecture features.
It then ventured into a niche hotelier segment with its high-end serviced suites development in Jalan Sultan Ismail called The Face Suites.
Moving forward, Platinum Victory continues to champion community development as it launches projects under the Government’s affordable homes initiative called Vista – Essential Homes in 2018.
More upcoming developments will be in Platinum Hill, Melati Utama, Setapak called PV 9, which are just next to Taman Melati LRT Station and PV 18 will be launched in Platinum Lake City, Danau Kota, Setapak.
Two other exciting developments include Platinum OUG in Overseas Union Garden, KL and Platinum Arena in Old Klang Road.
The total GDV estimated for 2018 is around RM2bil. As a notable community developer, Platinum Victory’s new tagline of “Creating Magical Moments” will encapsulate its promise to create magical moments for new home buyers.
