Uni achieves six-star excellence
MONASH University Malaysia (Monash Malaysia) was recently rated an outstanding (Tier 6) university in the latest Malaysia rating for university and university college excellence Setara 2017, conducted by the Higher Education Ministry (MOHE).
The Setara 2017 is an institutional rating using an integrated instrument that has been aligned with the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education).
This year, 71 higher learning institutions participated in the exercise.
“Our six-star Setara rating is recognition of our outstanding teaching and research performance,” said president and pro vice-chancellor (interim) of Monash Malaysia Prof Andrew Walker.
“Students studying at Monash Malaysia receive a world-class Australian degree while studying in a dynamic and innovative Malaysian environment.
“As we move into our 20th year of operation in Malaysia, we are proud to be placed in the very top cohort of Malaysian universities,” said Walker.
It focuses on institutional excellence for higher learning institutions to build strong fundamentals to deliver on three core functions:
Teaching and learning, research and innovation and services to community and industry.
The exercise classifies its ratings into six tiers with Tier 6 as outstanding.
