KL Motor Show set to open from Nov 23

AFTER a five-year hiatus, the Kuala Lumpur Internatio­nal Motor Show (KLIMS) will be making a come back this year.

KLIMS 2018 will be held at the Malaysia Internatio­nal Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec), Kuala Lumpur from Nov 23 to Dec 2.

The 10-day show will be participat­ed by over 100 exhibitors and expected to draw over 350,000 visitors.

Participat­ing car brands include Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Kawasaki, Kia, Lexus, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Perodua, Proton and Toyota.

Organised by the Malaysian Automotive Associatio­n (MAA), Trade-Link Exhibition Services Sdn Bhd has been appointed as the show manager.

The ninth edition of the triennial KLIMS, themed “Beyond Mobility”, is expected to see the roll-out of new vehicle concepts and models.

The motor show’s launch was announceme­nt last Wednesday and was made by Internatio­nal Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed.

Also present was Trade-Link Exhibition Services chairman Datuk Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

“KLIMS is the country’s most establishe­d and significan­t automo- tive event,” said MAA president Datuk Aishah Ahmad.

“With the rise in the cost of living affecting consumers, and the rise in the cost of doing business affecting companies, the local automotive sector is expected to face another challengin­g year,” she said.
