SEGI University and Colleges provides opportunities to bolster students’ success through quality global education. SEGi has become a game-changer in helping students graduate and gain meaningful employment.

Based on Employment Tracer Studies, SEGi University and Colleges is doing its part in guiding school-leavers towards bright futures in line with the National Transformation (TN50) programme.

In 2016, SEGi recorded 93% of its alumni in employment or graduate school – higher than the national average of 71% recorded by the Ministry of Higher Education Graduate Tracer Study.

SEGi places quality education within the reach of willing minds and natural talents. It helps aspiring students attain affordable education, graduate and find meaningful employment.

For example, its dentistry, medicine and optometry graduate employment rates have been at nearly 100% for two consecutive years. The degree programmes in dental surgery, medicine, surgery and optometry have received full accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency.

Educational institutions play an important role in laying the foundation for a student’s future career. But the strongest pillars of support are parents.

SEGi, together with parents, helps students start early by offering affordable education that comes with global learning modules and soft skill enhancement programmes. In the last few years, SEGi has set a new benchmark by producing 300 First Class graduates annually.

It also collaborates closely with some of the world’s most prestigious universities such as the University of Southern Queensland, Australia; University of Sunderland, University of Greenwich, Keele University and Abertay University in the United Kingdom; University of Toledo, University of Wyoming and University at Albany, SUNY in the United States, to let students benefit from global learning modules.

The biggest need is financial aid for underprivileged students. Since its establishment in 1977, SEGi has awarded more than RM100mil worth of scholarships.

SEGi High Achiever’s Scholarship grants up to full tuition fee waiver for outstanding academic merit, be it 10As in SPM or the equivalent. There are also other financial aids available, including a Sports Scholarship and an education loan from the National Higher Education Fund.

Choosing a programme

As one of the most established private higher education institutions in Malaysia, SEGi offers quality and affordable education covering various disciplines.

SEGi helps school-leavers to choose the right programme through a career test that examines students’ suitability based on six categories – Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising and Conventional.
