The International 2017 champion, Team Liquid is no stranger to taking home big trophies and lots of cash prizes. The win at The International alone gave Team Liquid a massive US$10,862,683 (RM42mil) payday, thus cementing its status as one of the richest teams in the Dota 2 scene.

Despite placing second at the ESL One Genting 2018, Team Liquid made up for the loss by winning the StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 4 last week. The Europe-based Team Liquid has many notable wins under its belt, including the Midas Mode – Europe, AMD Sapphire Dota PIT League, StarLadder i-League Invitational Season 3 and Epicenter 2017 tournaments last year.

Team Liquid, formed in 2000, only started its Dota 2 division in 2012.

Dota 2 teams, this too has had a change of players on its roster over the years. Currently, the team is led by Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi (Germany), with members Lasse “Matumbaman” Urpalainen (Finland), Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi (Jordan, pic), Ivan “MinD_ContRoL” Ivanov (Bulgaria) and Maroun “GH” Merhej (Lebanon).

“All of us got into Dota 2 simply because it’s an exciting and challenging game. We started playing it for fun. Never did I think that the passion and love for the game would lead me here, but I have no complaints,” said Al-Barkawi.

“Playing Dota 2 has opened up so many opportunities for not just myself and the team, but for every player that competes in any Dota 2 tournament on earth. People used to knock this game and the players, but we have come so far to prove that Dota 2 is more than just a game, its a career opportunity that is not to be missed.”
