Colour and diversity
MAC is back to its old tricks again, with the imminent launch of a brand new fashion collaboration.
The cosmetics giant has teamed up with fashion designer Nicola Formichetti, former artistic director of Diesel and the co-founder of the luxury streetwear label Nicopanda, on a fun-filled makeup collection with a panda theme.
According to an Instagram post by Formichetti, the MAC X Nicopanda range is “All about colour and diversity.” The ItalianJapanese designer added, "It's always been a dream to create a beauty line! Dream come true."
Imagery posted on social media by MAC and Nicopanda reveals an electrifying collection comprising lipsticks, lipglosses, eyeshadows and face palettes in eye-popping colours, as well as a series of glittery face stickers depicting hearts, pandas, and more. The range, which will launch in April on maccosmetics.com and in-store, comes in playful 3D panda-themed packaging. The collection marks another high-profile partnership for MAC, which released its retro, music-themed beauty line with designer Jeremy Scott earlier this month.
The brand's ever-growing portfolio of famous collaborators also includes jewellery designer Jade Jagger, hip hop star Nicki Minaj and singers Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey.
Last year, the company also released a makeup collection in partnership with beauty influencer Patrick Starrr, and hinted at a secretive project with sportswear giant Puma. – AFP Relaxnews
