Move up the career ladder
FOR close to five decades, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) has established itself as one of the leading providers of professional business education with an impressive track record.
Staying true to its mission to complement and supplement Government efforts in providing quality education and training to add to the development of human capital in Malaysia, TAR UC’s Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business (FAFB) postgraduate programmes cater to the professional needs of business executives and professionals hoping to advance their careers.
With over 47 years of delivering top-notch business education, FAFB has built strong strategic relationships with renowned global and national professional bodies such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, CPA Australia, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA), Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) and Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Drawing from the faculty’s reputation and academic strength, TAR UC will be introducing two new postgraduate programmes – Master of Investment Management (MIM) and Master of Corporate Governance (MCG) during its upcoming May 2018 intake, along with its existing Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.
FAFB’s postgraduate programmes offer a comprehensive area of study to further develop one’s potential to be an all-rounded business professional.
To help students develop an in-depth understanding of the dynamic industry, TAR UC’s MBA programme takes on a practical approach with real-world business projects.
On the other hand, the inaugural MIM programme is designed to focus on investment-related courses to supplement the Government’s efforts in transforming the Malaysian financial sector.
Likewise, the new MCG programme aims to equip graduates with solid corporate governance knowledge and skills in integrating the efforts of various stakeholders and promote corporate performance. Students who successfully complete the MCG at TAR UC will also be awarded the MAISCA Grad ICSA award.
In addition, FAFB’s Dual Award academic collaboration with UK’s Edinburgh Napier University and Coventry University enables students who successfully complete the MBA and MIM programme respectively to receive two master degree certificates – one from TAR UC and another from TAR UC’s partner institution, which will greatly enhance career prospects in Malaysia and abroad.
“Apart from the institution’s solid reputation with well-recognised global and national professional bodies, FAFB’s postgraduate programmes are delivered by a team of highly experienced industry professionals from diverse backgrounds.
“Through their experience, we are able to deliver high-quality, professionally driven and industry-relevant education to industry players aiming to expand their career prospects and have an edge in today’s competitive landscape,” says FAFB dean, Wong Hwa Kiong.
