Quest for leaders of the future
QUEST International University Perak (QIUP) was conceptualised for the development of bright students. Its goal is to produce quality graduates who find their intellectual curiosity met and their ambitions reached through excellent education.
According to chief operating officer Nicholas Goh, the university aims to produce graduates who excel in their respective area of study.
QIUP’s quest is to develop well-rounded graduates who not only excel in their studies but also actively participate in conferences, educational competitions and sports during their study here.
Computer science programme undergraduates Dickson Chin, Wilson Ho, Ivan Fong and Wong Kok did QIUP proud by clinching three top prizes at the recent 40th Science Engineering and Design Exhibition (Sedex 40) held at Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP).
In addition, hospitality students and lecturers won the bronze at the Ninth Penang International Halal Expo and Conference 2018, which saw the participation of four groups of students and lecturers from the hospitality and tourism management programme.
The International Halal Chef Challenge was organised by Halal Penang in collaboration with Penang Chefs Association Malaysia.
Meanwhile, QUIP’s debating team clinched podium finishes in three categories at the 2017 National English Olympics competition held at UTP.

QIUP student Liew Chan Siong, who is pursuing the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) programme, bagged one gold and two bronze medals in the International Taekwondo Federation National Championship 2017.
The university believes that taking part in competitions helps undergraduates develop the competitive and leadership skills required in the working world.
QIUP also believes in associating with the best, which is why it took on the title of sponsor and host university for the World Universities Peace Invitational Debate 2017 (Wupid 2017), which took place in Ipoh last December.
Wupid 2017 attracted some of the world’s best universities such as the University of Sydney, which is currently the world champion, and the University of Oxford, which is ranked as the No.1 debate university.
The QIUP debating team finished in 16th place out of 32 international teams. QIUP’s lecturers are passionate, industry-savvy and highly acclaimed. Students benefit from their knowledge and experiences.
There are five faculties and one centre at QIUP – the Centre for Graduate Studies and Research, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Integrative Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Business and Management, Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Pharmacy, offering programmes at foundation, diploma, degree and postgraduate levels.
