Making an informed choice
KOLEJ Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) is among Malaysia’s premium A-Levels college specialising in university preparation via Cambridge International Examinations and the equivalent of a British Sixth Form college. It takes pride in providing the ideal preparation and training for entry into the world’s top universities.
There are many excellent reasons for choosing KYUEM. Here are just five:
A tranquil and focused learning environment
The 50-acre (20.2ha) KYUEM campus in Lembah Beringin is 100% residential with superb facilities. There are no distractions here – the emphasis is on quality learning. Every student has a private bedroom in a variety of accommodation types and classrooms, and labs are well equipped.
Students are provided three meals a day in the dining hall, while a separate cafeteria offers alternative dining. There is 24/7 security guard patrols and the entire campus is monitored by a network of CCTV cameras.
A well-equipped sickbay is on site, together with outstanding sport and leisure facilities.
Excellent academic achievement
The July 2015 and January 2016 cohorts of KYUEM students have again set another new record of Cambridge A-Levels success.
Two students enrolled at Oxford University and eight at Cambridge University last year.
The following outstanding results bear witness to the students’ achievements – 90% of grades gained were at A*- B, 74% were at A* - A, 62% of students gained at least 3 A grades, 30% gained 4 A grades and 27% gained at least 3 A* grades.
Qualified, experienced and dedicated staff
Its teachers are all highly qualified UK A-Levels specialists and the majority live on campus. All students are known as individuals – learner-centred, holistic education is practiced at all times. As a specialist institution, KYUEM only offers Cambridge AS and A-Levels examinations.
Wide range of extracurricular activities
In addition to an Olympic-size swimming pool, indoor and outdoor courts and a magnificent games field, KYUEM offers cultural and leisure pursuits via a huge range of clubs and societies.
Every year, a variety of college events are organised and performed by students acting independently. This is character building, which requires time management skills.
You are left alone, but you will never be lonely
All KYUEM students are monitored by a personal tutor who they see at least once a week. They also belong to one of four houses, each with a dedicated House Parent.
All aspects of student life outside of class are looked after by the Student Services Department, one of whose members is also a fully qualified counsellor.
The physical and emotional well-being of students is taken as seriously as academic progress.
Talented students with excellent academic records and outstanding co-curricular backgrounds are welcome to apply for the July 2018 intake.
Applications should reach by April 30. The KYUEM Open Day will be held on April 14 between 9.15am and 1pm at its campus in Lembah Beringin.
