The R.E.A.L way to a good education

-

TRANSFORMATION is a process that cannot be forced, but can be guided and influenced.

Similarly, learning today is all about being more responsive to the needs and aspirations of young learners; this diverts from traditional methods.

Transformation at R.E.A.L is a journey that comes at various stages and with different outcomes.

An acronym for “Results Enhancing through Active Learning”, R.E.A.L approach places the learner at the heart of the philosophy.

This transforms them into confident, committed, and competent lifelong learners.

R.E.A.L’s learning experience promotes desired outcomes in students development.

And as students are not all the same, each learning experience is adapted to suit each student.

When right “ingredients” bear results, these methods are remembered to reproduce the conditions.

Preschool: Confident learner

The recently launched philosophy of the “R.E.A.L Learning Journey” has three capacities for each curriculum level.

R.E.A.L Kids preschool programme are designed to nurture confident learners.

Naturally curious preschoolers question everything but are also the most delicate.

They can lose enthusiasm to learn as easily as they can be encouraged, making it important that they have a good sense of physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Confident learners develop learning habits and attitudes that they would carry for life.

Primary: Committed learner

The foundation built at R.E.A.L preschool helps to shape learners into committed learners. They absorb as much as they can before becoming independent in their learning journey.

With increased motivation and a better understanding of things that fuel their commitment to learn; these students cultivate self-respect, positive appreciation of others, and good character values.

Secondary: Competent lifelong learner

At secondary school level, R.E.A.L students would have developed support self-reliance and resilience.

Having experienced challenges throughout their journey and successfully overcoming them, they have built secure values and beliefs.

It is also the point where they would find great determination to reach higher standards of achievement as they look ahead towards adulthood.

Competent lifelong learners possess a willingness to engage and participate in socio-cultural activities; and adopt open attitudes towards different people, thinking and ideas.

They also tend to be major, active contributors of society and the workforce.

Vice-president of Group Academic and Strategic Communication at R.E.A.L Education Group Dr Angelo C Maduli explained that R.E.A.L’s new “Learning Journey” philosophy encompasses learning materials and meticulous attention to develop appropriate learning principles and activities.

“It also involves design of learning spaces; 21st century learning approaches and methodologies; the role of learning technology; and assessment for learning,” he added.
