As your first step towards success, the APU Foundation (PreUniversity) programme is designed to help those with SPM, O-Levels or similar qualifications to progress into their first year of degree of choice.
The APU Foundation Programme
The APU Foundation programme offers a common first semester with fundamental modules as a flexible option to suit the individual.
A wide selection of Bachelors Honours Degrees is offered through APU and the Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT).
Learn within a globalised environment with peers from over 110 countries. Using English as the international language of technology and business, students are continuously immersed in a multicultural interaction and discourse from which learning takes place, albeit indirectly. This way, a global outlook, as well as international understanding and respect are developed within the context of formal learning.
The teaching style is designed to nurture students personally and professionally to achieve the standards expected in the degree programme.
Lessons incorporate activities that build confidence, such as public speaking and presentations during tutorials, enhance personal skills and team-building, such as group activities, mini-projects and debates and reflective thinking, such as question and answer, lesson feedback and learning portfolios.
The APU School of Foundation Studies provides a cohesive support system consisting of programme leaders and academic administrators to assist on academic matters, a personal counsellor to assist in non-academic matters and student ambassadors who will provide assistance as peers.
Technology plays an important role, and students have access to an array of tools and applications designed to support student life at APU.
APU Dual Degree Programmes APU offers a dual degree programme (where applicable) through a unique collaborative partnership with Staffordshire University, UK, through which Staffordshire accredits undergraduate programmes designed and delivered by APU. Upon completion, students will be awarded two undergraduate degree certificates and transcripts – one from APU and one from Staffordshire University.
The programme provides enhanced opportunities for further study and career development, especially since both degrees are earned from reputable and quality institutions from two different countries.
The most obvious benefit of the partnership is the opportunity for students to gain degrees from Malaysian and UK higher education institutions that are recognised locally and internationally.
