DASEIN (da:za-in), a connotation derived from German philosophy, has timelessly inspired philosophers, artists, writers, and creative thinkers to discover and redefine one’s true being and existence.
A quote by Enrich Fromm, “People are born equal, but they are also born different” has since become the academic hallmark of Dasein Academy of Art, whereby the craft of imagination is about training the creative minds of individual talents for great artists bear the timeless imprint of identity in his masterpiece.
Driven by this ingenuity, Dasein believes that the education for art, design and media studies is more than just a mere skill or job market-oriented curriculum.
After all, it is through the path of creative thinking and aesthetic learning that one discovers the beauty of one’s existence.
With that ideal in mind, Dasein Academy of Art was established in 1996 by a team of
avid educators and professionals from the art, design and media industry aspiring to revive the role of a future generation dedicated to the creative and cultural development for personal enrichment.
Over the years of advocating individual distinction, Dasein Academy of Art has developed a unique set of teaching principles called edu-mentoring.
Personalised approach
As the word suggests, Dasein Academy of Art has incorporated two key ingredients into its syllabus for developing young minds – teaching plus mentoring to provide a more personalised approach for each teaching-learning relationship.
So, how does edu-mentoring work? Self-value starts from personal virtues. Contrary to most mass-teaching institutions, Dasein Academy insists on smallscale classes by limiting 15-25 students per class.
Accomplished professionals Over the years, Dasein graduates have consistently achieved high employment rate at 98% after three months of graduation.
Artists and scholars from around the world are often invited to host academic forums and talks to uncover inspiring insights that fuel the creative process.
