Let Me Eat Your Pancreas

Celestial Movies, Astro Ch 322, 9pm From the title, this sounds like a horror movie about a serial killer going about killing people and eating their pancreas. But it’s actually a romance flick based on a Japanese novel of the same name. It’s about popular high school student Sakura Yamauchi, who is dying from a pancreatic disease, and her classmate, a geeky librarian who happens to read her diary and learns her secret. As their relationsh­ip blossoms, he helps Sakura to fulfil her bucket list, while she inspires him to become a high school teacher. Stars Shun Oguri, Keiko Kitagawa, Yusuke Kamiji and Daichi Morishita.

Dangerous Beyond The Blankets

In Korea, a homebody is someone who loves spending time at home. So what happens when a bunch of superstars who are homebodies are put together under one roof? In this new reality drama, actors Kim Min-seok, Lee Pil-mo and Lee Yi-kyung and boyband members Kang Daniel (WANNA ONE), Koo Jun-hoe (iKon) move into the same house. As expected, although they all share a common liking of staying home, none of them are exactly alike.

Eragon

No, this is not a movie about the solo adventures of Aragorn from Lord Of The Rings. It’s based on a children’s fantasy book set in the land of Alagaesia. A farm boy happens upon a dragon’s egg – a discovery that leads him on a predestine­d journey where he realises that he’s the one person who can defend his home against an evil king. Stars Ed Speleers, Jeremy Irons and Sienna Guillory.

Sniper: Ghost Shooter

Fun fact: after the original Sniper movie hit cinemas in 1993, there have been six, yes SIX other films in the franchise, all of which went direct to video. This one is the sixth in the series, featuring elite snipers Brandon Beckett (son of the original’s Thomas Beckett) and Richard Miller, who are tasked with protecting a gas pipeline from terrorists. Stars Billy Zane, Chad Michael Collins and Dennis Haysbert.

The Archer

Lauren Pierce is a high school archery champion who is sentenced to a girls’ reform camp after violently beating her teammate’s abusive boyfriend. However, the camp turns out to be a corrupt and twisted prison that breaks young girls while keeping their parents in the dark. Lauren escapes with another prisoner named Rebecca and they are forced to fight for their survival in the Utah wilderness. Stars Bailey Noble, Jeanine Mason and Michael Grant Terry.

Whistle Blower

While investigat­ing a clinic for illegal activities, TV news producer Yoon Min-cheol discovers that renowned scientist Lee Jang-is also involved. Jang-is is famous for his ground-breaking experiment­s cloning human embryonic stem cells, and is considered a national hero. Min-cheol later gets a tip from young scientist Shim Min-ho that Jang-is’ stem cell research was fabricated and unethical. The two join forces to expose the fraud. Starring Yoo Yeon-seok and Lee Geung-young.
