Presented by The Actors Studio Seni Teater Rakyat and Muka Space, the same team responsible for 2016’s Don’t Let Shakespeare Know and 2017’s Don’t Let Children Know, this new production features a variety of short plays inspired by Chinese literature. The Human Exhibit: Mentalhealth is back. This latest “tour” version will feature most pieces from the original installation but in a more physical, theatre-style production. Think Van Gogh painting but instead of a single art display to look at, watch people performing dance, spoken word, physical movement, monologues and dialogues within a setting reminiscent of a glass. The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra seeks to entice audiences with a programme consisting of works by four composers from four different countries. Included in the repertoire list is violinist Baiba Skride from Latvia, who has performed with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Royal Concertgebouw, London Philharmonic, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig and NHK Symphony. Klaviercussion, a musical duo comprising percussionist Yon Nian Shee and pianist Ko Chuan Li, was created to elevate interest and appreciation of piano/percussion ensemble literature.
