Jumping for Jonas Blue

- – Angelin Yeoh

PUT your hands up for Jonas Blue (pic). The English DJ, music producer and songwriter will be performing a set at Zouk Club Kuala Lumpur on April 21.

Blue, 28, is known for hits like Alien, By Your Side, Mama and Perfect Strangers. His songs have recorded over two billion streams on Spotify.

Blue, whose real name is Guy Robin, became popular with his tropical house cover of the Tracy Chapman classic Fast Car. The song was released in 2015. In an interview published on Official Charts, Blue revealed how his passion for making music began with a cereal box.

“When I was 11, I got into deejay-ing purely by watching Club 18-30 Reps on television. The great thing about it was that it would pan to shots of DJs like Erick Morillo, Carl Cox and David Guetta.

“I was heavily addicted to those DJs and basically wanted to be them. Then I got my first piece of production software for free in a cereal box when I was 12, and it took off from there,” he said.

The cereal box in question?

“It was Coco Pops! That was the life; 18-30 Reps and a bowl of Coco Pops,” he shared.

Blue’s set at Zouk Club KL will feature his take on notable dance pop hits as well as his own signature tropical house music.

Tickets are priced from RM65 to RM75. For more information, check out www.face book.com/zoukclubkl.
