DB11 4.0 V8 arrives

THE Aston Martin DB11 has finally landed in Malaysia with its 503hp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine - the little brother to the 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 variant.

“We are thrilled to officially unveil the V8-powered DB11 in Kuala Lumpur. We expect sustained interest and continuing growth in demand for DB11, spearheade­d by the arrival of the V8-powered model,” said Aston Martin (Southeast Asia) head of sales operations Nancy Chen.

Priced from RM1.8mil (after duties and taxes), the V8 version of the DB11 is offered in standard Silver Fox or a custom colour at extra charge.

Imported from its factory in Gaydon, England, the hand-built coupe gets an eight-speed automatic transmissi­on with paddle-shifters have an electronic shift-by-wire system, alloy torque tube, carbon fibre propeller shaft and a limited-slip differenti­al - all of which have been mid-mounted in the rear.

With launch control, the coupe with 20-inch wheels is able to sprint from 0-100kph in 4.0 seconds before reaching a top speed of 301kph.

For added safety, the DB11 comes with six airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distributi­on, dynamic stability control, traction control, emergency brake assist, hydraulic brake assist, positive torque control and dynamic torque vectoring.

In conjunctio­n with the launch, the English sports car maker also announced the opening of its new RM2.4mil service centre by Wearnes Quest.

“With this investment, our current and future customers can be assured that we remain committed to deliver unparallel­ed British standards of excellence,” said Wearnes Quest managing director Jerry Lee.

The new 4,000sq-ft fully air-conditione­d centre (located in Lingui Industrial Park, 15 ½ Miles, Sungai Pelong, Sungai Buloh), boasts of its profession­ally trained service personnel, three service bays, a diagnostic bay as well as the latest tools and technology.
