Serena S-Hybrid goes Premium

THE 2018 Nissan Serena 2.0L S-Hybrid will have a Premium Highway Star variant, with exclusive two-tone exterior colour choices and extra classy-features. Due to be launched in mid-May, the seven-seater MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) has estimated prices (without insurance) of below RM140,000 (Highway Star variant) and below RM155,000 (Premium Highway Star).

It is Japan’s best-selling mid-size MPV (January to March 2018).

On the Premium variant, the extra features are combinatio­n leather seats with colour choices of two-tone truffle brown/chestnut or single-tone black, a 10.1-inch roof-mounted LCD panel, tech-on tray mat, driving video recorder (DVR), LED room lamp, 16-inch Diamond Cut alloy wheels, door visors, V-Kool 4Mil security film tint, and ThreeBond Ultra Glass Body coating.

Standard and first-in-class features on the new Serena 2.0L S-Hybrid are Intelligen­t Around View Monitor (I-AVM) with Intelligen­t Moving Object Detection (I-MOD), hands-free dual power sliding doors and seven USB ports.

The 2.0-litre engine with twin CVTC (continuous­ly variable-valve timing control) is mated to a XTronic CVT (continuous­ly variable transmissi­on), and this powertrain produces 150ps at 6,000rpm and torque of 200Nm at 4,400rpm.

Standard safety features include six airbags, vehicle dynamic control (VDC), electronic brake force distributi­on (EBD), traction control, child seat retainer with top tether, and hill start assist (HSA).

It comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, and three-year or 60,000km maintenanc­e service (whichever comes first).
