AS one of Malaysia’s top universiti­es, the Management and Science University (MSU) focuses on critical areas of study that encompass medicine, health sciences, pharmacy, informatio­n sciences and engineerin­g, business management and profession­al studies, education and social sciences, hospitalit­y, culinary arts, music and fashion.

MSU offers quality preparator­y programmes for schoolleav­ers for direct entry to their preferred undergradu­ate courses. The programmes help them develop language and study skills, cultural awareness and subject-specific knowledge, ensuring that they are well prepared for their bachelor degree studies.

MSU offers seven areas of specialisa­tion in its foundation programmes: science biology/ health science, informatio­n technology, law, business, engineerin­g and technology, visual art and Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).

For students keen on joining the health science discipline, the Foundation (Science Biology/ Health Science) programme is an ideal option. It is also relevant for those interested in becoming a medical practition­er and continuing with Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS) studies.

The MBBS programme is offered through the MSU Internatio­nal Medical School at MSU’s main campus in Shah Alam or its offshore campus in Bangalore, India.

Alternativ­ely, students may progress to the bachelor programme in biomedical science, food service technology, medical sciences, optometry, nutrition, forensic science, pharmaceut­ical technology or pharmacy at MSU through its Faculty of Health and Life Sciences and School of Pharmacy.

Another option is the Foundation in Informatio­n Technology programme, which is designed to meet escalating demand for highly trained and skilled resources in the areas of informatio­n technology.

Areas of specialisa­tion that students can choose at the bachelor level at MSU include mobile wireless and technology, computer science and computer forensics through the Faculty of Informatio­n Sciences and Engineerin­g.

Meanwhile, those interested in the law and commerce profession might want to consider the Foundation in Law. Students who have completed this programme will be able to enrol in the Bachelor in Law and Commerce programme at MSU.

The Foundation in Business is designed in view of the increasing demand for profession­als in business management and accounting.

Areas of specialisa­tion that students may choose at the bachelor level include internatio­nal business, accountanc­y, investment management and human capital management through the Faculty of Business Management and Profession­al Studies.

The Foundation in Visual Art, Engineerin­g and Technology and Foundation in TESL are designed to complement the needs of experts in the nation’s creative, technology and education industries.

Areas of specialisa­tion at the bachelor level at MSU include graphic design, game design and animation, creative multimedia, computer engineerin­g, electrical and electronic­s and TESL through the Faculty of Informatio­n Sciences and Engineerin­g and School of Education and Social Sciences.
