Fastest Car
THE premise of Fastest Car may put off those who are not into, well, cars.
In each episode, the show follows three different individuals as they gear up their modified vehicles to race against owners with luxurious supercars.
The winner gets to advance to the next round of the race while losers go home with nothing.
But what makes Fastest Car really fascinating is how the show explores the motivations of each talent featured on the show.
In the first episode, we meet a a guy who is paralysed from the waist down but that’s not going to stop him from being a part of the competition.
We also meet the gutsy daughter of a Hollywood stuntman who is determined to prove her naysayers wrong when she gets in the drivers seat.
I also like how the series shows us the perspective of the supercar owners. In one particular episode, the all-male competitors can’t believe their eyes when they meet a professional female racer with a Ferrari.
Fastest Car has a way of surprising viewers in every turn as it challenges our stereotypical perception of racers.
It also shows that in any race, what really matters is the person behind the wheel and not the machine. – Angelin Yeoh
