In every relationship, there comes a meet-the-parents stage. Chris and Rose Armitage have reached this stage and are worried that their interracial relationship will be a problem for Rose’s parents. Nevertheless, Rose brings Chris over for a weekend at her parents place, a quiet town where everyone knows and respects her neurosurgeon father and hypnotherapist mother. Their home employs coloured housekeepers, as do all of the residents in the secluded town. However, Chris begins to notice something weird in the housekeepers’ behaviour, and begins to uncover a dark truth not only about the Armitage family but of the entire town. Juggling so many responsibilities can be tough, so to help her out with some of the chores at home, Ji-sun hires a maid, Han-mae, who will also care for Da-eun. One day, after an unsuccessful court meeting with her ex-husband and mother-in-law, Ji-sun arrives home to an empty house, with no sign of Hun-mae or her young daughter Da-eun.
