IT is not everyday perfume lovers have the opportunity to try out fragrances crafted by royalty. Thanks to Sasa, Malaysians can now be captivated by French princess Marina Gacry’s collection of perfumes, Princesse Marina De Bourbon. The newest addition to the collection is Cristal d’Or.

Gacry is the founder of perfume house Princesse Marina De Bourbon. She is the wife of Prince Andre of Bourbon-Parma of the ancient Bourbon of Parma Dynasty. Their kingdom once ruled France in the 16th century.

“The founder is a commoner who married a prince. She wanted to share a whole new world in the royal life through fragrances,” said Princesse Marina de Bourbon export manager Morgane Blanc who was in town recently for the launch of Cristal d’Or.

Cristal d’Or – available at Sasa stores nationwide – is a luxurious, sensual and intense fragrance made for an exuberant and enigmatic woman. The formulation fea– tures three key flowers tuber rose, tiare flower and jasmine sambac.

“Tiare flowers are harvested from Polynesia.

The flowers are traditionally used in garlands and offered a symbol of protection to fisherman going out to sea. Princess Marina was touched by this gesture and inspired to incorporate the flower’s extract into the fragrance,” explains Blanc.

The top notes of luscious Mandarin orange and raspberry awaken the senses, while the sweetness of jasmine sambac lingers with the quivering of tiara flowers. The trail unfurls the sensual accents of vanilla and amber, followed by the density of musk. The brand has been in the market for over two decades. There are 22 fragrances catering to men and women under the luxury brand. These include Blue Royal, Prince Noir and Prince Blanc (for men) and Cristal Royal, Royal Marina Rubis and L’Or de Marina (for women). Perfumes are formulated in Grasse, France – the world capital of perfume.

Cristal d’Or’s bottle is inspired by France’s famed Palace of Versailles, a palace adorned with gold, gems and crystals. The gold flacon is designed with intricate prisms to reveal sophistication and regalness.
