Perfect setting to expand horizon
“I CHERISH my life and I want to make the best out of it,” said Pamela Phua. “I am reaching for my dreams without fear.”
Phua is one of Nilai University’s (Nilai U) scholars who was awarded the High Achiever’s Scholarship (HAS), which entitled her to a full scholarship from the university.
Having graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology (Class of 2017) from Nilai U, Phua made immediate plans to pursue her Masters at UTAR.
She is currently embarking on the Masters of Science in Biochemistry (by research) programme, fully waived by UTAR Kampar, Perak.
Her friends and family members find her an outspoken and self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills and a good sense of humour.
“I dedicated the past few years to achieve the best I could from Nilai U.”
“In a school of competent candidates, I thank my lecturers for their guidance and I would also like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to my lecturer Willy Yee for his constant dedication and motivation that fires my determination to be the cream of the crop,” she said.
Phua added that Yee was a lecturer at Nilai University who taught cell and molecular biology, and he would welcome consultations beyond working hours despite his busy schedule.
“I am lucky and grateful to be one of the scholars who was given the chance to pursue a free education that has now granted me uncountable rewards.”
“I attribute this success to my ability to plan, schedule, and handle many different tasks at once.”
“I would honestly say that I have gained a memorable learning path. The course structure has been fantastic.”
“I learnt to challenge my level of determination and enthusiasm every day. Though the university offers me the best opportunities to get the knowledge that I am seeking, it emphasises that it is up to me to make the most out of the years that I am spending here,” she said.
Phua believes that there is more in store for her in future.
“I aim to reach my fullest potential and the experience I had in Nilai U played a great role in my progress and success,” she said.
“And I hope my friends deserve the same opportunity to pursue their undergraduate learning in a challenging, stimulating and highly rewarding institution.”
