Remedy for female hair loss

-

VISIBLE hair loss can be distressing and affects both men and women of all ages.

According to a posting by Harvard Women’s Health Watch, while men losing their hair is accepted – and expected – women losing theirs can severely affect a woman’s emotional well-being and quality of life.(1)

Cause of hair loss in women

Female pattern hair loss, also known as androgenetic alopecia, is the most common cause of hair loss in women.

Almost every woman eventually develops some degree of female pattern hair loss. It can start any time after the onset of puberty but the risk rises with age.

Women tend to first notice hair loss around the age of 40; it is also known as menopausal hair loss. This is due to the decrease of “hair-friendly” oestrogen levels, which initially protects women’s hair roots against testosterone, the main culprit for hair loss.

As a result, testosterones take over the place of oestrogens in the hair roots, causing hair to fall out prematurely, the scalp to become more visible and the hairline to recede.

Prevention is always better than cure. Early diagnosis and treatment for female pattern hair loss are critical as this condition can be chronic and progressive.

Phyto-caffeine shampoos against hair loss

In collaboration with dermatology departments of university clinics, Dr Wolff research and development from Germany developed an active agent complex based on a phytocaffeine.

This protects hair roots from weakened growth during menopause, supports growth and minimises hair loss.

This led to the development of a phyto-caffeine complex included in the Plantur 39 haircare range of shampoo, tonic and conditioner.

Head of Dr Wolff Research Dr A. Klenk said: “Conventional shampoos, no matter how expensive, cannot cope with these consequences of menopause.”

More importantly, these products work without hormone replacements.

Using special galenic formulation (pharmaceutical carrier base) in Plantur 39 Phyto-Caffeine haircare products, the caffeine complex travels all the way to the hair shaft to promote regeneration and protects hair roots from the negative impact of testosterone, thus preventing hair loss.

The star product in the range is, the Plantur 39 Shampoo.

The caffeine content may help reduce the hormone-induced exhaustion of hair production. During washing, the active ingredient penetrates into the follicle.

To supply the hair with sufficient energy, it should be used every day and left on the scalp for two minutes before rinsing.

A study has proven that after leaving the shampoo on the scalp for two minutes, components of the shampoo penetrated into the hair follicles to release protective effects and this is detectable even after 24 hours.

A daily use of the shampoo is important to protect hair roots against constant testosterone attack.

There are two types of shampoo within the range: Phyto-Caffeine Shampoo for fine, brittle hair intentionally contains only small doses of softening hair conditioning agents to ensure your hair retains its volume.

The Phyto-Caffeine Shampoo for colour-treated and stressed hair has natural wheat extracts and provitamin b5 to condition and repair hair.

Damaged hair structure is smoothened and the hair is shinier.

For women who do not want to wash their hair daily but wish to reduce hair loss, they can opt for Plantur 39 Phyto-Caffeine Tonic.

This tonic contains caffeine as well as the vitamin niacin, zinc, salts and nature’s phyto-active substances, which help reduce hair loss.

The tonic penetrates the hair follicle where it forms an active ingredient depot that protects up to 24 hours.

Frequent hair washing can damage the hair surface and can cause the hair to lose its shine.

Plantur 39 Conditioner helps regenerate hair surface and increase hair brilliance. It also contains avocado, which makes hair smooth and helps protect the scalp.

Women in their late 30s should commence a Phyto-Caffeine hair care regime with the Plantur 39 range of shampoo, tonic and conditioner.

The Plantur 39 Phyto-Caffeine hair range is formulated and produced in Germany, and is available exclusively at selected Watsons stores.
