Succession

HBO, Astro Ch 411/HD Ch 431, 2.30pm Lifeboats – This new HBO family drama-comedy follows the lives of the Roy family, a dysfunctional (is there any other kind?) American family made up of Logan Roy and his four children, who control one of the biggest media and entertainment conglomerates in the world, Waystar. The family has to contemplate a succession (title drop!) plan as the aging patriarch begins to step back from the company. In this episode, Kendall Roy (Jeremy Strong) confronts a major crisis involving a secret bank debt as Waystar’s stock plunges to dangerous lows. Kendall and his brother Roman (Kieran Culkin) attend their first big meeting in their new roles, while Kendall also tries to convince his estranged wife, Rava (Natalie Gold) to give their marriage a second chance.
