All animals are equal, but some animals are more superior than others. In this case, it’s the star of a travelling circus, DeDe the Dog (voiced by the toogood-for-this-film Mae Whitman), who has to rally a ragtag group of quirky but lazy farm animals after she is left behind by her circus. It’s a fairly cute set up, derivative of 1995 Australian-American talking animal classic, Babe, but they make it work. On the periphery there’s some family drama involving the farms owners and some ne’er-do-wells who took a villainy class from Home Alone, sent to dog-nap DeDe. But yeah, focus on the talking animals.
