NEXT week, Malaysia will be hosting its biggest whisky and spirits event yet.

WhiskyPLUS 2018, to be held on July 28, at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, will see around 40 labels of whiskies and spirits on display, with many available for sampling at the day-long event.

Whether you’re a serious whisky connoisseur, a casual aficionado, or a total newbie looking to expand your whisky horizons, this is the event for you.

The event is separated into two sessions (12pm to 4pm, and 5pm to 10pm), during which guests can enjoy unlimited tasting in the main tasting room, and also attend masterclasses, drink cocktails at the pop-up bars or savour some exclusive whiskies at the VIP Premier Tasting Room.

There will also be a special Collector’s Corner, featuring an exclusive special selection of purchase-by-the-dram rare, old, and collectible whiskies that’s unprecedented at Malaysian whisky tastings.

Brands to look forward to include some of the world’s best-selling single malt whisky brands, single cask whiskies from The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) and The Single Cask (UK), whiskies from Ireland, Japan and India, as well as a variety of rums and gins.

Tickets are available for either Standard or VIP entry for each of the two sessions. All attendees will receive a complimentary Glencairn-style whisky tasting glass and entry to the main tasting floor. VIP pass holders will receive additional privileges and goodies, such as access to the Premier Tasting Room.
