UNTIL AUG 12: This is the second solo art exhibition by Penang-born artist Ken Ooi Chee Kheng, 45. It features 36 oil-on-canvas artworks. His semi-abstract artworks feature landscapes and flowers, painted purely from his imaginatio­n.

Ooi has participat­ed in more than 40 group exhibition­s (19922016) locally and abroad (Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and China). He has also won several art competitio­ns, including the Penang Young Talent Award (1994). Time: 11am-8pm daily.

NOW UNTIL SEPT 2: This exhibition showcases 55 artworks by Tapahborn Peter Liew, an oil-painting maestro with over 40 years experience in art. His works are based on three themes: nature, cultural heritage, and faces, all representi­ng the journey of the painter’s life. His encounter with an artist in his hometown at a young age inspired him to pursue art. He spent three years studying fine art at the Malaysian Institute of Art and went on to develop his own art style. After graduation, he lectured for 13 years at his alma mater. Opening hours: 11am-5pm (closed on Mondays).

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY: Ballet students aged three upwards, as well as adults, will perform at this concert presented by the Jean Gan Academy of Ballet and Music.

The Academy dancers will perform classical ballet, Broadway tap, modern jazz and hip hop numbers. The baby ballerinas will sing and dance to songs from Disney movies. Hong Kong musician and record producer Andrew Tuason will be conducting an original song compositio­n titled Life ,sungby young songwriter­s, Kacey and Kaelyn, together with the Galore Children’s Choir. The choir will also perform songs from the hit musical The Greatest Showman.

Proceeds from the concert will go towards supporting young patients in need of surgery through Yayasan Sin Chew, and Taman Sinar Harapan, a home for the mentally disabled at Kuala Kubu Baru.

Time: 7pm (Saturday), and 4.15pm (Sunday).

Entrance by donation.
