The new Ninja 250 has joined the local Kawasaki line-up during its unveiling at the Art of Speed 2018, held over the weekend at Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS).

Priced at RM23,071, the new 2018 sports model comes in two colour schemes of Passion Red/Metallic Flat Spark Black and Pearl Solar Yellow/Pearl Storm Grey/Ebony.

This six-speed machine is powered by a 249cc engine delivering 39hp and 23.5Nm of torque.

This parallel-twin engine is 6.7hp more powerful than that used in the previous 2017 Ninja 250.

Compared with the 2017 Ninja 250, the new model is also lighter, faster and more responsive.

However, the 2018 Ninja has a smaller tank which is at 14 litres compared to the previous model which offered a 17-litre tank.

Kawasaki also claims that the new Ninja 250 has the largest brake disc in its class.

Ample stopping power is assured by the 310mm semi-floating disc at the front disc and a 220mm disc at the rear.

For better riding pleasure, the front suspension is entrusted to a 41mm telescopic fork and while the rear gets a gas-charged shock with adjustable preload.

This 167kg bike is equipped with a simple cockpit that is very visible.

The design features a large analogue tachometer with gear position indicator and multi-function LCD screen.

The 2018 Ninja 250 will be available in all authorised Kawasaki dealers from the middle of August.
