Fair for law grads
THROUGH the years, Advance Tertiary College (ATC) has seen many students who excel in their undergraduate legal education advance to postgraduate Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) studies and graduate to pursue successful careers in legal and non-legal fields.
The CLP course at ATC is viewed as an ideal platform to prepare undergraduates for legal practice in Malaysia.
This course has been developed, structured and improved over the years to cater to the professional standards and prestige attached to the CLP Examination (CLPE).
ATC offers a balanced combination of lectures and tutorials with the prime focus on preparing students to pass the CLPE in their first attempt.
ATC believes legal undergraduates taking the CLP course need to rise above their LLB mode of study and “experience” the practice.
Driven by this aim, ATC’s Kuala Lumpur campus will kick-start the upcoming intake of the CLP course by organising the fourth instalment of its own Legal Careers Fair on Aug 18.
As in previous years, this year’s fair will see the coming together of prominent law firms in town such as Messrs Shearn Delamore & Co, Izral Partnership, Albar & Partners, and Rahmat Lim & Partners.
All the participating law firms will be setting up their respective booths during the fair, which will enable interested students to meet and discuss possible career opportunities as well as internship and pupilage positions.
The Legal Careers Fair provides aspiring lawyers familiarity of the rich tradition of the Malaysian legal profession and raise awareness of the extensive areas of legal practice where graduates can venture into.
The fair should last for about two hours. Admission is free and open to all students and interested members of the public.
At the ATC Legal Careers Fair, there will be a preview of the CLP course from noon to 2pm.
Intake for all programmes (A-Levels, LLB and CLP) at both KL and Penang campuses are currently in progress.
