Mission: Impossible – Fallout
YOUR mission, should you choose to accept it, is to swiftly watch the thoroughly-enjoyable sixth Mission: Impossible
(M:I) instalment.
A key and consistent factor that grounds this film franchise in greatness is its composite original and exciting ingenuity, uniqueness, breakneck-pace, and high-octane scenarios and escapades. Fallout accomplishes all of these with ease.
A major theme that gives every M:I film the edge over most M:I-emulating wannabes is the substantial plot-centred focus on the protagonists’ inventive problem-solving skills while facing impossible odds. All through sheer grit and purpose.
M:I films don’t depend on excessive individual characterisation. And those unwavering objectives work perfectly according to each director’s filming style. In Fallout, loyalties are suspect, moralities challenged, multilayered twists plentiful and unexpected, and close-calls abound. And the soundtrack is fiercely intense!
As usual, Tom Cruise performs insanely-risky stunts often unnecessarily, yet with admirable dedication to realism and authenticity. Arguably, Cruise is Ethan Hunt. Though Hunt may be the impossible-defying action-man (though relatively humanised), it is the teamwork that truly conquers. Progressively better, this M:I offering simply cannot fall out of favour!
