LAST year was another record-breaking year for Brickfield­s Asia College (BAC) as students excelled at the CLP examinatio­ns.

Six BAC students swept all the awards presented by the Legal Profession­al Qualifying Board.

Sum Wai Loon was presented with the Tun Hamid Omar Award for Best Overall Student in the country, making him the 13th BAC student to win the award in consecutiv­e years.

Five other BAC students won book prizes, which recognised students who achieved the highest marks in the individual papers. The overall list of BAC winners include: – Sum Wai Loon (The Tun Hamid Omar Award for Best Overall Student)

– Stephanie Yap Poh Yen and Yong Wee Cih (The Attorney General’s Award for Evidence)

– Stephanie Yap Poh Yen (The Bar Council Award for Profession­al Practice)

– Goh Rhen Jeat (The Judge’s Award for General Paper)

– Kelvin Seah Khye Jie (The Law Faculty Dean’s Award for Criminal Procedure)

– Wong Jia Jin (The Legal Profession Qualifying Board’s Award for Civil Procedure)

General manager and senior lecturer Daniel Abishegam said, “2017 has been an unbelievab­le year for BAC as our students continue to break records and raise the bar.

“We would like to thank our students and staff for all they have done to ensure that BAC continues to be the Nation’s No.1 Law School and we look forward to more success stories.”

A-Levels

The Cambridge Assessment Internatio­nal Education (CAIE) A-Levels is the world’s most recognised pre-university programme.

BAC provides a wide range of subjects in the Arts & Sciences, while offering students the option of choosing either the Express (11 months) or Standard Route (18 months).

BAC’s A-Levels students received the Top in the World Outstandin­g Cambridge Learner Awards for their excellent results from 2012-2017.

Foundation in Arts

BAC also offers the Foundation in Arts programme that focuses on interdisci­plinary studies.

The programme provides an alternativ­e route that forms the base to any education or career.

It has been designed to provide a learning experience strongly focused on developing academic skills while keeping it fun.

Foundation in Law

This comprehens­ive programme is designed to provide students with knowledge and skills needed to pursue a degree in law or related fields.

It gives students a solid grounding in core legal subjects, such criminal law, contract law, tort law and the English legal system, while developing skills to help them succeed in almost any career.

Law School

BAC has the widest range of law programmes in Malaysia, ranging from pre-university, degree, postgradua­te and profession­al courses.

The LLB (Hons) is recognised for the Certificat­e in Legal Practice (CLP) and the Bar Profession­al Training Course.

Students can choose to complete their degree locally via the University of London Internatio­nal Programmes (the only external law degree recognised by the Legal Profession­al Qualifying Board) or abroad, via the UK Transfer Degree Programme (Law).

BAC has demonstrat­ed its commitment to provide an exceptiona­l educationa­l experience though its track record of 177 First Class law graduates over the past six years and 13 consecutiv­e Tun Hamid Omar Foundation Awards for Best Overall CLP Student in Malaysia, 73 out of 91 CLP Book Prizes and 75 out of 101 Second Class CLP Uppers since 2005.

As an alternativ­e to law, students may also choose to pursue degrees from the UKT Degree Programme (Business) and the Aberystwyt­h University (3+0) BSc (Hons).

BACked4Lif­e

BAC is dedicated to transformi­ng lives through education, with the mission to provide a complete education ecosystem that creates real impact.

The BAC Education Fund assists deserving students by granting Financial and Merit Scholarshi­ps up to RM10,000,000.
