Earn a British business school degree

-

INDIVIDUALS seeking top quality undergraduate degree programmes that feature a strong foundation can look to the Henley Business School (HBS) Malaysia.

HBS has a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes that are challenging, fulfilling and lifechanging.

Founded in 1945, HBS was the first established business school in the UK, and is now one of the oldest, most respected schools in Europe.

As part of the University of Reading, the business school operates within an academic institution that’s in the top 200 of all global universities, according to QS World University Rankings 2018.

Located just across the MalaysiaSingapore Second Link, in the heart of the fast developing economic region of Iskandar Puteri in Johor, this Malaysian campus is purpose-built, modern and hi-tech.

It is one of the few business schools around the globe to be triple-accredited by American, British and European accrediting bodies – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the EFMD Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the Association of MBAs (AMBA) – for the quality and capability of its faculty and output.

Among HBS’ range of undergraduate programmes is the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Finance and Business Management, the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Management and Business, BSc Accounting and Finance degree, and the highly rated BSc Real Estate degree.

All HBS undergraduate degrees are honours degrees.

For individuals who are striving to position themselves as leading investment bankers with expertise in Islamic finance, HBS offers a Master’s Degree in Investment Banking and Islamic Finance.

This is jointly delivered by the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) – the global university of Islamic finance.

Graduates who aspire to be at the forefront of business thinking and business management can embark on a PhD in Business and Management.

Students can choose from a range of research topics including real estate, finance and Islamic finance, accounting, international business, economics, digital marketing and supply chain management.

PhD students have the opportunity to develop cuttingedge knowledge in big data analytics, fintech and digital currencies through HBS Malaysia’s Centre for Global Business Enterprise and Cloud Analytics.

HBS has been ranked the best for its potential to network, according to The Economist’s business school rankings for alumni networks.

This means students have the chance to engage with influential academics and practitioners through the school’s strong networks.

HBS’s global reach includes 150 academic faculties from 18 countries. Most of these are widely published in their field, with an international network of associates and collaborative partners, and alumni family of more than 70,000 members worldwide.

According to HBS Malaysia head Prof Eng Teck Yong, the school’s research-led teaching means students are taught based on the most current knowledge.

“Most of our lecturers have connections with industry captains or people in the financial and real estate fields and small to medium enterprises,” said Prof Eng.

“This means they are in a position to influence decisionmakers,” he added.

Prof Eng said most HBS Malaysia academics are research-active with their findings published in peerreviewed academic journals.

They are able to use their own material for teaching purposes, which enables students to be wellinformed on most recent, cuttingedge research in a particular area.

The programmes taught at HBS Malaysia have global recognition and students can experience the best of both worlds – a prestigious British qualification on Malaysian soil at a fraction of the cost of studying in the UK.

Students also have the opportunity to do part of their degree at the UK campuses, allowing them the chance to collaborate with UK peers and gain exposure to other cultures.

A range of generous scholarships are awarded to academically excellent students, including the Provost’s Award, which offers the very best students the equivalent of a 100% discount on fees. Discounts are also given to high achievers and alumni.

Domestic students are eligible to apply for a range of external scholarships being offered by organisations including Khazanah Watan, Gamuda Land, Great Eastern, The Edge and Star Media Group.

Application for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes at HBS at the University of Reading Malaysia opens on Sept 24.

Apply before September to enjoy an early bird discount.
