CX-3 and Mazda6 updated
BERMAZ Motor has introduced updated versions of its CX-3 crossover and Mazda6 sedan which get refinement touches with improved driving performance and efficiency.
The CX-3 is imported from Japan and is priced at RM121,134 on-theroad, inclusive of GST (0%) without insurance.
It is sold with a 3-year or 60,000km (whichever is first) free maintenance package, and a 5-year or 100,000km (whichever is first) manufacturer warranty.
An optional item is the Skytint safety tint film which costs RM1,792.45.
Exterior updates include a new front grille design with double chrome slats, rear tail lights redesigned with a sharper styling, and a new rim design.
As for interior enhancements, the new CX-3 receives an updated dashboard, new red accent on the air conditioner louvers, and most remarkably – the adoption of electronic parking brake which allows for a new centre console, armrest and significantly greater storage space.
Other updates include redesigned front seats for greater comfort and support, and a new rear seat centre armrest with built-in cup holders.
Also, the CX-3 has reduced noise, vibration, harshness (NVH) as improvements for sound insulation have been achieved with thicker door panels, outer glass and headliner door seals, resulting in a more refined and quieter cabin.
The suspension is retuned for a smoother ride, and the power steering and chassis recalibrated for a more enjoyable drive.
Power comes from a SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre petrol engine paired with a SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift and sport modes, along with Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control (GVC) technology which improves handling, stability and comfort.
Fuel consumption is 6.3 litres per 100km on the combined cycle.
The safety kit includes Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
Meanwhile, the updated Mazda6 is offered in four variants of 2.0litre petrol sedan priced at RM156,190, 2.5-litre petrol sedan (RM189,698), 2.5-litre petrol touring (RM193,472) and 2.2-litre diesel sedan (RM197,401). Prices are zero-rated GST without insurance.
Imported from Japan, all Mazda6 variants have the SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic transmission with manual-shift mode, along with Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control (GVC) technology.
Exterior changes include a new front grille design, new sleek LED headlamps, and a newly designed rims.
The bumper is also redesigned with air vents to improve the Mazda6’s aerodynamic performance by channelling air to the front tyres.
The rear features a new chrome finish, new sleek rear lamps, and a new tailpipe design.
Interiorwise, the dashboard design has styled to look wider and the Mazda Connect infotainment display has been enlarged to an eight-inch size.
New front seats are wider now for improved comfort and reduced fatigue.
A USB charging point is available in the rear centre armrest in addition to the standard cup holders.
NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) reduction, similar to the CX-3’s, were also achieved with thicker door panels, outer glass, headliner, and door seals for a more refined experience.
Only the 2.2-litre diesel and 2.5litre petrol variants get a colour windshield-projection Active Driving Display, Driving Attention Alert (DAA) and Smart City Brake Support (front and rear), as well as a 360-degree View Monitor that provides a view of the car and its surroundings by using four cameras.
Its Smart City Brake Support (rear) helps to prevent low-speed collision when the driver is reversing.
Only the 2.5-litre petrol engine variants have the Mazda i-Eloop Technology which uses a brake energy regeneration system to convert a car’s kinetic energy into electricity as the car decelerates.
