Enhance career with online learning
OVER 20,000 people worldwide have achieved their qualifications through online and distance learning with AeU (Asia e University). The only difference between a qualification from AeU and a conventional university is the flexible way AeU delivers the course.
With 24/7, multi-device, multimedia learning materials and a leading edge online learning portal – myPLS, you can study from any place in the world at any time, as long as you can access the Internet.
AeU’s Master of Education (MEd) degree programme caters to the growing market needs of education experts in the industry and offers two delivery modes – blended learning and 100% online learning.
Blended learning mode is a flexible mix of online learning plus traditional face-to-face teaching in one of AeU’s learning centres. It can be completed in 24 months and tutorial sessions are conducted by qualified academic facilitators once a month during weekends.
The MEd programme with 100% online learning mode is ideal for adults with a busy schedule. The online MEd programme consists of nine core subjects plus one concentration subject. Upon completion of the core courses, students will select one area of concentration from 10 – Early Childhood Education, Teaching English as a Second Language, Educational Management, Educational Psychology, Instructional Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Assessment and Evaluation, Science Education, Mathematics Education and Teaching Bahasa Malaysia.
A project paper will involve a study in the area of concentration. The rich, engaging curriculum will prepare students to advance their professional standing and complete their studies in just 18 months.
All learning materials are fully provided online. Also, qualified online academic facilitators are committed to ensuring your online learning experience is enriching and engaging. Interaction between academic facilitator and students are done through live chat, Skype, WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook.
Chow Choi Chin has been an accountant for over 20 years and is currently working with a Malaysian property development company.
A believer in lifelong learning, she enrolled in AeU in 2011. AeU was her final choice as the MEd programme was accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and recognised by Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awan (JPA).
Despite having to strike a balance between work, family and a student life, Chow graduated with AeU’s Master of Education (with a concentration in Early Childhood Education) and received the Chairman’s Award at AeU’s 2014 convocation.
Chow says, “The MEd degree qualification has given me the confidence to be an effective educator and definitely given me an edge on alternatives if I venture into a different career path in future.
“I was able to apply the ideas and principles learnt in the programme on my young children and build a role model for them.
“Hopefully that would leave a positive impact for them to achieve their future academic goals.”
Admission for AeU’s MEd is through regular entry and also through APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) entry, which accepts candidates even if they lack the paper qualifications for regular entry. APEL candidates are assessed by prior learning and work experiences.
