VW to absorb price difference

-

VOLKSWAGEN Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has announced that they have revised their prices for all its models with following the implementation of the new Sales and Service Tax (SST) on the Sept 1.

The new prices for Volkswagen vehicles are now lower than previous prices with 6% GST, with the exception of CBU models, and all vehicles are accompanied by a standard five-year manufacturer’s warranty with three years free maintenance and five years roadside assistance.

“With the new tax structure, the reduction of Volkswagen prices ranges from 1.5% (for the Tiguan Comfortline) to 2.6% (for the Vento Highline) compared against the previous tax structure with (6%) GST,” said VPCM managing director Erik Winter.

Additionally, the company recently introduced its Price Protection Scheme (PPS) on Aug 27, prior to the implementation of SST during a media luncheon in Kuala Lumpur.

“The introduction of this Price Protection Scheme is a way for VPCM to assure our customers that we have their best interest at heart, so we urge customers to place their bookings now and enjoy the extended tax holidays,” he said.

The scheme promises customers that it will absorb the price hike in the form of rebates, for all its locally assembled and imported models registered from now until Nov 15, while stocks last.

Regarding pricing for aftersales services, Winter added that they are determined by the service tax rate, and customers can download the revised pricing guide on its website at www. volkswagen.com.my.
